Private Game Safari
After an early morning departure, the safari heads off to the beautiful Aquila Game Reserve. Aquila Private Game Reserve is a mere 2 and a half hour scenic drive from the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town.

This malaria free reserve is 4 500 hectares large which consist of sprawling mountains, rivers, valleys and kloofs which make up the Southern Karoo Highlands and steeped in Khoi San and Boer War history. The land consists of Renoster veld, Mountain Fynbos and succulent vegetation, making wildlife a prominent feature in this area.

Game found in this area includes Black and Blue Wildebeest, Burchell's Zebra, Springbok, Gemsbok, Steenbok, Caracal, Blesbok, Bat Eared Fox, Ostriches, Klip Springer, Duiker, Greybuck, Baboon, Black Backed Jackal, Eland and Red Hartebeest.

Aquila is home to the Big Five, namely Elephant, Lion, Buffalo, Rhino, and the rare Mountain Leopard. Hippo and Giraffe is also found in this area. Aquila is also home to 172 species of bird, including the endangered Black Eagle and the pink hued Flamingo in the summer months.

There are a number of luxury African safaris for you to enjoy and choose from, ranging from horseback safaris, quad bike safaris to traditional game drives. The drive up includes a beautiful scenic tour up to the game ranch (2hrs) stopping half way at a quaint farm stall with home made goodies and nick knacks, all made by the farmer’s wife.

On arrival at the game ranch you are welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink and a magnificent, full course buffet breakfast. After breakfast you leave on your 2 - 3 hr game drive plus a nature walk, accompanied by an experienced game ranger.

Refreshments are served half way and a scrumptious gourmet buffet lunch awaits you in the African boma restaurant when you get back.

After lunch you can relax around the pool or bar area (swim) or visit the curio shop and then enjoy a scenic return drive to Cape Town, stopping for a wine tasting at a well-known Wine Cellar half way back to Cape Town.
